Walking Tour of San Ignacio

Discover some of San Ignacio’s fun and unique attractions!
Just 45 minutes from our Belize eco-village!

Hawkesworth Bridge
Start off your San Ignacio walking tour by the wooden bridge and enjoy an amazing view of the Hawkesworth Bridge, the only drivable suspension bridge in Belize. A new bridge is under construction that will link San Ignacio and Santa Elena as well.
San Ignacio Maya Monument
As you continue walking up the street, heading towards the San Ignacio Farmers' Market, you will pass this landmark monument, recently created by a local artist. Hang a left and you will arrive at Belize's largest farmers' market, an important social and commercial hub in Cayo. Our banner picture showcases the market. Be sure to visit on a Saturday - it's when the market truly comes alive!
Cayo Welcome Center
After buying some incredible edibles at the market, cross over to the Cayo Welcome Center where you can stop for a quick bite to eat or a refreshing bubble tea at Bambu Tee. There are several food kiosks located in this area.
Chocolate Cookie Display
Inside the Cayo Welcome Center, mosey over to the Belize Tourism Board info center where you can discover further interesting things to do in Cayo. Above you can see a beautiful display they had during the recent Cacao Fest.
Burns Avenue, Belize
End your walking tour by heading over to Burns Avenue where you'll discover many restaurants, banks, businesses, and RE/MAX Property Center. Interested in more information about what Belize has to offer?
